Sumer Is Icumen In Lhude sing cuccu!

There are many things that remind us that the seasons are changing. Many times it is the change in the weather. That is not what turns my thoughts to triple digits, ac, and swimming. However, the thing that is turning my thoughts toward summer is not the change in temps, wanting the house cooler, or diving into the cool, refreshing water. The thing that turns my thoughts is the end of the church school year, more specifically, the Gem's mother, daughter tea.

It was a evening full of skits, fashion shows and cupcakes. Yes, I got to put my baking skills to the test. I had to make 18-24 cupcakes for this annual get together. Happily there was no drama in the making of the cupcakes (at lest nothing I couldn't fix without starting over). And, it was a lot of fun to do some baking again. But, I think I have had my fill for a little while. The cupcakes tasted good. No one has gotten sick from eating them so we assume that despite a little bit of egg yoke that got in and shouldn't have, it was safe to eat them. Summer is coming in Loudly sing, Cuckoo, (and eat cupcakes!) ( and no, those are not mine in the picture, I did not get a picture of mine).
