As I sit here thinking about what to write, I realize that this post will be a good test of my memory. Once again it has been a while since the last post. So I will try to get you all caught up on the events of the past month or so.
When I last wrote I was in the middle of Romeo & Juliet rehearsals. Well, Romeo and Juliet went very well. The chorus received great reviews, (as did the whole show). It was a lot of fun singing and getting to work with many wonderful singers. However, as it is said there is "No rest for the weary", .....or is it wicked? Anyway, the very next week we started up rehearsals for Madama Butterfly. Despite the fact that it is composed by one of my favorite composers, Butterfly, is a pain in my side. I love the music, however, getting back into signing Italian is such a struggle. But slowly, day by day, we are making progress, and we should have a great show at the end of April!
Speaking of April, it looks like the month has finally brought some of the warm, dry weather, many people have been craving. I feel that the saying should be "March showers bring April flowers", because that certainly the case around here. We got so much rain last month that our governor could finally declare an end to our multiple year drought. Rivers are still high and cold because of the mountain run off. However, God has blessed us with water again. The rain has put a damper on out door events lately. It looked like the annual Almond Blossom Festival was going to be rained out by the weather we had at the start of that last week in February . Ashley was also afraid that she wouldn't be able to finish her
8krun er walk. However, Saturday of the parade and walk was nice and sunny.

As I said, the rain did put a damper on some events, but, it didn't stop Ashley and I from painting her bed room, and getting some photos up on the walls before we had some company stay with us. One of Ashley's past roommates from Dordt, along with her sister, came out for a visit. In between the weather they went to Knight's Ferry and Columbia with us and also explored some of California's natural landscapes.
Since I last posted I have alsohad the pleasure, joy er, I went to GEMS camp and was a leader for a weekend. It was actually a good year. I just wish that God had decided to give me a cold on a different weekend. Friday was the night of no sleep, at all. sleeping in a sleeping bag, on a plastic bunk-bed mattress, with five chatty 7th grade girls in the same room, while battling a cold is not my idea of an ideal weekend. However, despite moving all activities inside because of the rain, it actually was pretty fun. No, running around looking for the girls who decided to go run off without telling me. No drama of ," they think we are the ones messing up other people's cabins". No, it was good, and I hope the girls had fun as well.
Well, that is pretty much it for now. It looks like it just might be a beautiful day after all. This warm weather just doesn't want to officially stay around. For example Ashley and I went to the opening game for the Oakland A's just a week ago and it was almost perfect weather! No blanket needed. This morning I had frost on my windshield! But, I know summer is just around the corner by the evidence the beautiful flowers that are popping up every day give! Hope you all are or will soon be having a wonderful spring!!!!
