Penso and The Song that Never Ends.

OK, so I know this post is not based on a musical term. However, I couldn't find one that fit just right with how things have been these last few weeks. So, I choose Penso, which in Latin means.

1. to weigh, weigh out
2. to counterbalance, contrast, compare
3. to compensate, recompense, requite
4. to pay, atone for
5. to weigh, ponder, examine, consider

I am taking definition #5. (this is from a translation site so if that is not what it means, sorry) And I'll get to the other part of the title later.

As many of you know I spend a lot of my work days on the computer here at work. Well, lately I have been surfing the blogosphere. The way to do so is to just hit the "next blog" button at the top of the blog page. You never come across the same blog (most of the time) and it is not in any type of order. However, when doing this the other day I kept coming across blogs about knitting, sewing etc. and today, theology! So, I wonder if this is a sign that I should start one of these as a hobby or if someone is telling me that there is a cold theologian out there that needs a sweater or scarf made for them. Hmmmmm.

OK, my randomness is over with for now. Now on to life or,The Song that Never Ends. Like the song that never ends life has, for the most part, been very repetitive and seeming to go by so slowly. Unlike that song though there have been a few out of the norm events.

For example, I got to walk down memory lane one weekend or so ago. I went to Gems camp as a counselor! Wow, I never thought I would see that place again! Oh my, i feel old! Not only because it was so long ago that I came as a Gem myself. But also, because I think my cabin girls were trying to kill me! Now, don't get me wrong, it was a fun weekend, but, I hardly got any sleep. I forgot how chatty 6th grade girls can be. The following are a few photos of the weekend. Welcome to Camp Silver Spur!

It was a fun weekend of enjoying Gods creation!

I just love this next photo. A group of us went on a short hike and ended up at the other camp site. We found this just setting on a bench in the amphitheater. We never found out who did this, but what a cool way of letting your faith shine!

This is my evidence that my girls wanted to kill me. If lack of sleep didn't get me they were hoping that death by streamers would. What imaginations they have!

Other than camp not much happened. Things will be picking up soon though. I am going to be moving again soon! Ashley finally got all the paperwork signed for her house just waiting on the City to hand over the keys!! Soon I will be living next door to Sarah and Neil! Fun times!

Blossom Bagatelle

It took me a bit to come up with a title for this post. I considered “Spring” or “Le sacre du printemps, however, I felt that “Spring” wasn’t very original; and that what I was going to share wasn’t very pagan like. Blossom Bagatelle seems to fit just right. Weekends are just too short. This one was particularly eventful and I just like piano.

So once again I am very tardy in writing on here. Time has just flown by. Its not that I don’t have time to be on here, I just don’t get a lot of peaceful time to write on here. I mean during the week when I am on here I am at work and not in the mood to write. I only get internet on weekends when I am at my mom and Dad’s house. There it is relaxing and all, however, we all are usually all in the same room, Sunday afternoon programming on the T.V. etc. and it doesn’t allow one always to focus. Hopefully when I next move I can have internet. Crossing my fingers!

I shouldn’t have to cross them for very much longer. Yes I am moving again! My sister just signed the paperwork yesterday for her first house. She is now a home owner!!!!!! She has a little house in Ripon! I guess what? It is right next-door to Sarah and Neil!!!!!! It is2 bed/ 1.5 bath. And I just love the street that it is on!!!!!! The curb appeal is not the greatest in my opinion, however there is great potential! My dad is already coming up with ideas of how to improve it. Ashley has to keep reminding him that she is a poor privet school teacher with very little money. We are hoping to move in sometime this month. I think it will be nice to share a house with someone again. Not that I don’t like my own place, but, splitting responsibilities like cleaning and necessities, and knowing that there is someone there when I get home will be nice too.

Ok, so I told you a lot has happened and I haven’t even gotten to the part based on my title! So this last weekend was the annual Ripon Almond Blossom Festival. It is a time when Ripon is at its finest. Just driving around and seeing the rows upon rows of beautiful Almond Trees in bloom! Not only that, but there are so many fun events!!!!! The last weekend of February in Ripon consists of dinners, carnival, races, a parade, the diaper derby and the crowning of Miss Ripon our Almond Blossom Queen. For the first time in a long time I got to go to any of the Stuff on Saturday. And for the first time ever I went to the Diaper derby. I am proud to say that I know both the diaper derby winner and the Almond blossom queen!!!!!

My Saturday started with joining Sarah and Neil, Sarah’s parents, and my cousin Andrew and his wife Melissa in cheering on Sarah and Neil’s daughter Abby in the Diaper Derby where she was the over all winner!!!!!! I was a little torn because my other cousin Kurt and his wife Jamie had also entered their daughter Jorie. Luckily the girls were in different heats so I didn’t have to choose one over the other… at first. They both won their first race which put them into the finals. Because of the excited crowd the second time around Jorie got a little scared. Abby on the other had booked in across the mat to win!!!!!

The rest to the morning and a bit of the afternoon was spent enjoying the parade. I hadn’t been to the parade in years! I would say it had been since I was in it for swim team when I was 10 or 11. My parents were never big on going. And, then in high school I usually worked, after that I was gone to Dordt and then the last few years I had work.

Sunday was also not without some fun. Abby, Sarah and Neil’s daughter, turned 1yr earlier in the month. However, with other things going on and Sarah making a trip to the Midwest a birthday party was not held until this last weekend. It was not a large party. Myself Sarah’s parents and brother Mark, Andrew and Melissa, a high school friend of Sarah and I ; Patricia and her husband, and our friend Veronica (Nika). Andrew and Melissa brought their daughter Lucy who is a little older than Abby and whom Sarah babysits a few times a week. And, Patricia and her husband brought their daughter as well. It was just a fun time to spend with friends and watch the little girls play.

Sarah made the cake, it was an apple cake. No sugar except what the Lord put into the apples originally.

Melissa and Andrew's daughter Lucy.

My friend Patricia and her husband Abdel's daughter Felicity kept looking at Andrew like she didn't trust him.

Well, For the most part that is what has been going on with me. No mater what, weekends fly by to fast. But they help give us special moments to look back on!

Oh and I have a new roommate!!! I finally named him! Meet Weber, he is a Black moor gold fish!
