Exposition: On My Own

I am living on my own! It is so strange! Never in my life have I not shared a house, apartment, or Dorm room with my family or roommate(s). It is a big change and something I am still not used to. I am getting settled in for the most part. Though the initial excitement of moving and getting settled is starting to fade. Below are photos of My First Place!

View from the park across the street!

Main room during the cleaning process.

Main room after moving in.

Main room towards the street before moving in.

After moving in.

Dining area from main room.

Kitchen from dining area

This is a before and after view of the kitchen counter grout.

Master bedroom before painting. The previous renters left some interesting markings on the walls.

Bedroom after moving in and then painting.

Bathroom in transition. (before paint and before the shower doors came off fully)

So the week that I moved in we had tones of rain! So much so that I got to play host to some unwanted guests... ants.

The fun of moving out for the first time is being able to go shopping. I found this lamp base at a thrift store. I ended up painting it to fit with my stuff better.

The final product! I just love it!

Maybe soon you all can come visit!

♫♪ ♪♫•*¨*•.A Winter Waltz .•*¨*•♫♪ ♪♫

Wow! How swiftly time flies! It seems as though we went so swiftly through the holidays! If I did not have photos to prove it, I would almost wonder if we really had a holiday season this year! I started this joyful season by helping my sister with our church's Sunday School Christmas program. The above photo and the few following are from our Saturday practice. It took a bit to get going. And, as it is said, having a bad dress rehearsal means having a good performance! The kids did great! We have some very talented youth! And, most had so much fun which made things even better! Our pastor's wife took pictures during the actual program. If you would like to see them just follow this link.

Singing their hearts out to one of their favorite songs. H-O-L-L-Y, H-O-L-L-Y! HOLLY! HOLLY! HOLLY!!!!!!!

Another highlight of this holiday season was that Braden made his Knightsounds début! Yes, Knightsounds did perform at RC's fall festival, however, a few tenors didn't make it up on stage. Here is the evidence to prove he made it!

Another part of the holiday season is decorating the house. Last year Ashley and I decided to start our own Christmas village. So Welcome to Victoria Falls! I must admit, it was a little difficult getting into the Christmas spirit this year. And, maybe that is why it seemed to go by so quickly. It was hard for me to get into it because we did not finish putting things up until 2 days before Christmas due to a bathroom remodel. But, finally everything got into place and Victoria Falls came alive once more! I can't wait to see what buildings come out next year!!!

Well, I hope everyone's Christmas and New Year's was as great or better than mine. And I pray that there are not any miss- steps in your winter waltzes!
