Peach Pastorale

Oh California even if you are in debt and the cost of living here is so high at least we know that there is one good thing you give us..... fresh produce!

Thinking over this summer I am reminded of all the delicious fruit that we were blessed with. We have had cherries, blueberries, watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, grapes, apricots, bananas and now Peaches!!!! Living outside of town a bit we are surrounded by orchards full of crops. And what is even better is that the farmers are part of our church community and are willing to share with us! they say that they would rather let us help ourselves than see it fall to the ground. Isn't it wonderful how God blesses us with such wonderful selfless people?!

Anyway, so peaches are overflowing in our house and I got into one of my baking moods..... not such a bad combo. So, I decided to experiment. Now, now. I know some of you are thinking, "what is the number for poison control again?" We'll I must say that my experiment wasn't so bad. If it had not taken so long to finish, (got done around 11pm) I might have taken a picture of the final thing. But, who knows I might try again to improve the recipe.

Heartland Song

I know, I know. I am getting into my old habit of not updating my blog. This is partly because I have not been in the mood, and because I don't really feel like I have anything profound to say. However, At the end of July my cousin Becky got married and so I was able to take a trip to that home away from home.... The Midwest. The following are photos from the trip.

Our driver... Aunt Mari.

This year marked 10 yrs since my Grandpa Schuller passed away. For some reason I had not yet seen his gravestone. So we took a quick trip out to the cemetery.

Fireflies! It had been years since I had seen fireflies!

Pics from around Grandma's house.

Another firefly!

Matthew & Elliott standing up for Eric in the wedding, they look so happy......

exchanging of the rings.

Mr. & Mrs.!

Grandma, Aunt Mari, Aunt Diana. Braden, Mom. & Ashley.

First try at a funny photo. Trying to do bunny ears on Braden. It still makes me laugh to see Aunt Diana doing bunny ears in mid air. Instead of bunny ears, it is peace.

Second try, hold him down!

Eric & Becky before leaving the church.

They got locked out!

Bye!

I have no idea what this conversation was about, but I have a feeling my dad was saying something outrageous again.... Jennifer just has that look on her face.

Cake anyone?

Get the question right they kiss, get it wrong, they choose who kisses.

How come I keep getting strange looks on people's faces?

Oh good, they can smile! Much better boys!

Doing their duty and saying thank you to all who came.

First Dance.

Some final Shots of Iowa before flying home.

The weather was beautiful! I just wish I had been able to see one storm while I was there. Tear, tear.

So I had a lay-over in Phoenix, AZ. These little birds where in the airport terminal, and quite entertaining.

All in all it was a great trip, not too short and not too long. Part of me wanted to stay, and yet part of me was ready to go home. Hope everyone had a great summer like I did!
